The Mount Doug Golf Course is a family owned 9-hole executive golf course located in the Blenkinsop Valley in Victoria, B.C. Winner of the 2021 and 2022 best 9-hole golf course in Victoria we are currently looking to fill the role of Superintendent. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic work environment.

The Superintendent will ensure the proficient operation of the Golf Course Grounds Department and all related golf course maintenance activities and business development.

➢ Create staff work schedule
➢ Recruit & train grounds crew; advise GM of staffing needs
➢ Responsible for safe use, mixing and application of chemicals and commercial products
➢ Care and maintenance of the Golf Course property
➢ Coordinate and oversee the completion of renovation projects
➢ Irrigation repair and installations
➢ Available to cover shifts and possibly work on weekends if required
➢ Oversee maintenance and repair of equipment with on-site mechanic
➢ Oversee supplies and equipment purchases once approved
➢ Participate in long-range planning meetings and Superintendent PD courses
➢ Work closely with the General Manager & Owner regarding budgetary requirements and course development

Qualifications and Skills:
➢ Minimum of 5 years of golf course maintenance experience
➢ Knowledge of irrigation operation and water management
➢ Operate heavy machinery
➢ Knowledge of golf course equipment, maintenance and repairs
➢ Experience and knowledge of golf course operation
➢ Experience in supervising, directing, scheduling staff
➢ Current Pesticide Applicator certification; knowledge of fertilizer and application
➢ Valid driver’s license

➢ Membership with British Columbia Golf Superintendents Association and participation in Professional Development courses
➢ Golf privileges; staff discount in pro shop

The course is closed for approximately 3-4 months per year for course improvements and maintenance
