Golf Operations Manager

WHO WE ARE

Since its inception, Hylands Golf Club has matured into a top-quality golf facility that offers a full range of services and
amenities to its1200 members and their guests. A true jewel among Canadian Forces golf facilities, Hylands continues to
host numerous regional, national and international events. As part of CFMWS, our mandate is to provide affordable golf
to our local military personnel and their families.

The Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services’ (CFMWS) supports the Canadian Armed Forces members and their

THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Manager of Golf Operations will be responsible for the management and
execution of all Golf Services including:

Promoting & Enhancing Member Satisfaction

Pro Shop Operation - Purchasing & selling top brands in hard and soft goods, inventory control, custom ordering,
rental equipment, POS management, tee reservation system

Back Shop - Club storage, pull cart storage, power and pull cart management & rentals, club cleaning

Practice Facilities - Full service driving range, two practice holes

Club Repair

Golf Instruction

Corporate Events - Recruiting, planning, promotion & execution of high level events, tournaments and functions

Business Planning - Review current business strategies, recommending enhancements & efficiencies for viability and
profitability of the Club, creating & adhering to annual operational budgets, performing necessary paperwork, work in
concert with Human Resources and Accounting departments ensuring appropriate processes & procedures are followed
& completed.


QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Business Management, Business Administration, or a related field AND several years of
experience in golf course management or related field

OR

High school diploma AND in-depth experience in golf course management, pro shop operations or in a related field

AND

PGA of Canada “Class A” Golf Professional


Experience

- In golf, pro shop or related business management
- In merchandising
- In applying policies, procedures, and regulations
- In personnel administration
- In budget administration
- In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail, and Internet browsing


Knowledge

- Of golf club or pro shop operations
- Of general business practices and theories
- Of application of financial, administrative and operational controls
- Of budget management
- Of personnel management
- Of applicable provincial and federal environmental laws and regulations
- Of loss prevention
- Of workplace health and safety practices


Competencies, Skills and Abilities
