A facility this distinguished requires a General Manager with a passion to inspire and drive excellence within the team and for its guests. With a strong golf and operations background, the successful candidate will take on a challenging and rewarding career managing all the club’s business activities. Our next General Manager, reporting to GolfBC Corporate Management, will have a proven track record in managing a resort-style guest experience and an accomplished group of Team Members. They will inspire a high-functioning team in a fast-moving environment to maintain and build upon a great product and experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, inspire, motivate, and develop the teams in Course Maintenance, Golf Operations, Tennis, Administration, and Sales & Marketing; connecting them to a strong, united culture that exceeds guest expectations
• Set and consistently reinforce high standards for an inclusive, high performing culture of leadership and teamwork; ensure that the team continuously improves Wailea’s product and service quality
• Remain on top of industry trends and develop programs that maximize daily green fee play
• Uphold brand standards and drive a culture that one is proud to lead
• Develop and implement strategic plans and goals
• Analyze financial statements and prepare capital and operational plans
• Work with department heads to develop annual goals (in line with companywide objectives) and provide regular feedback on progress
• Identify problems and actively engage with Team Members on solutions
• Know the guests and cater to their needs, maintaining the highest quality standards and service
• Impactfully represent the Wailea Golf brand within and outside of the community including Wailea Community meetings, public forums, industry associations and before County and State governmental agencies
• Oversee and provide input to Company Lessees including negotiating and ensuring contract compliance; and working with Wailea Golf’s counsel on legal matters

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience, with proven leadership and management skills, in the golf industry. Preferably multi-divisional management experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business or a related field
• Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills; embraces new technology • A positive, team-focused attitude of inclusivity
• Extremely high guest service commitment
• An innovator and problem-solver who spots issues early and solves them effectively by staying connected with the teams and guests
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to address a large group in a calm and articulate manner; high in emotional intelligence
• High degree of administrative and executive ability, especially in terms of problem solving and decision making
• Knowledge of current federal and local laws and regulations affecting the management of golf, tennis, restaurant and tenant operations
• Agronomy knowledge desirable
