Job Summary
The Board of Directors is seeking a General Manager to effectively execute the core-principles and values of St. Andrew’s East for the sole benefit of its member-owners. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the General Manager is the leader of the Club’s management team and is responsible for day-to-day operations of the site in accordance with the mandates of its Board of Directors.

Responsibilities
• Foster a member-owner experience that reflects the core-values of St. Andrew’s East while striving to continuously improve the product.
• Manage the user-experience at the golf club in a way that will create outsized demand for membership and positively affect member-equity
• Develop and implement innovative, industry-leading operating policies, programs, procedures, and methods
• Lead all department heads in achieving their departmental goals
• Remain accountable to long-term and short-term financial measurements in coordination with the expectation of the Board of Directors
• Protect the unique financial integrity of the Club
• Prepare and discuss expertly any interim financial reporting as may be required by the Board of Directors
• Oversee the timely and fiscally responsible execution of capital projects
• Coordinate and implement strategies as approved by the Board of Directors
• Oversee and participate as lead contact in the marketing of the golf club to potential member-owners
• Communicate all key messages to the membership in a timely, regular, and professional manner
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory matters affecting the Club


Direct Reports: Head Golf Professional, Head Superintendent, Head Chef, Office Administrator


Qualifications
The GM will report to the Board of Directors. As the leader of a capable and experienced team of professionals, and the chief influence on the direction of normal operations, the successful candidate will, at minimum, possess the following core competencies, experience and attributes:

Business/Finance Skills:
• A strong understanding of all aspects of business management including business development, financial reporting, information technology, HR policy, risk management, marketing and performance analytics
• Strategic, forward-thinking tendencies capable of digesting and organizing multiple points of data in decision-making
• Experience executing large, long-term capital projects
• Experience leading within a hospitality setting with a diverse set of direct reports
• An ability to surround oneself with the right people to serve the ongoing and future needs of the member-owners


Education:
• A post-secondary degree in business, hospitality or professional golf management credential is preferable
• Additional studies or certification in management, finance, or other relevant skill is favourable


Experience and Accreditation:
• Experience as a senior leader in a private club environment or other similar top tier facility
• Hospitality experience with an excellent understanding of food and beverage operations suitable to oversee and develop an exceptional dining room
• Direct experience with budget planning as well as business planning and long-term capital management
• Evidence of experience coordinating multiple teams of staff in a complex setting
Compensation
• The Candidate will receive a compensation package in-line with industry standards and the seniority of the position, commensurate with experience and additional factors
