Golf Course Break-Ins Continue
(July 18, 2024) After our notice yesterday afternoon regarding a wave of overnight break-ins at golf facilities, 6 more courses in the Eastern Ontario/Outaouais Chapter were hit last night between 10 pm and 3 am. With the total now exceeding 24 courses in Trois-Rivières, the Montreal area, Eastern Ontario, and Outaouais over the last two weeks, we urge all owners and operators to be vigilant in their procedures and protocols. This group appears to be targeting cash on-site and pre-scouting facilities beforehand.
In conversations with police and owners/operators, it seems the suspects may be two males, possibly more than one group, in their 20s to late 30s (one heavier set and the other shorter and very thin). They may be driving a black or dark SUV with Quebec license plates. The OPP is actively looking for this vehicle and has issued a joint bulletin connecting all the break-ins...read more.
