OTTAWA, ON - On November 17th, during its Annual General Meeting in Calgary, Alberta, the membership of the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) Canada voted in its new Board of Directors with Lesley McMahon of Balmoral Golf Course (AB) as the new President.
“I am so very proud to be the new President of this great association and am especially proud to be the first female president, notes Lesley. “As the next couple of years unfold in front of us, I hope to bring a vision of collaboration and success to all of our members and partners.”
Lesley’s involvement in the golf business began at birth and in 1991 she took over running the family’s 18-hole operation as GM. As General Manager, Lesley has operated every piece of equipment and done every job needed to keep the course running.
Lesley is joined on the executive by Vice-President Harry Brotchie, Lakeland Golf Management Inc. (MB, SK), Secretary Treasurer, Daniel Pilon, Les clubs de golf Banlieue-Ouest (QC) and Past President, Steve Spratt (Falcon Ridge Golf Course, ON). The above executive and the following 10 directors make up the NGCOA Canada Board for the next two years: Brian Schaal, (Copper Point Golf Club, BC), Slade King (Play Golf Calgary, AB), Doug Breen (GolfNorth Properties, ON), Reto Steiner (Woodside Golf Course, AB), Nadia DiMenna (Centre de Golf Le Versant, QC), Mike DeYoung (Glen Arbour Golf Club, NS), Rick KindraChuk (Wakaw Lake Regional Park Golf Course, SK), Richard Edmonds (Tangle Creek Golf & Country Club, ON), Debra Griffith (Greensmere Golf & Country Club, ON), and John DeCorso (Victoria Park East Golf Club, ON).

The Board of Directors provides leadership for carrying out the Association’s mission, which is to provide business support to Canadian golf course operators and related stakeholders, presenting one united voice within the golf course industry.
