MANAGER, LEISURE FACILITIES

Reports To: Director, FAcT Engagement

Job Purpose:
The Manager, Leisure Facilities, primary responsibilities are to:
• Effectively and efficiently manage and deliver services associated with the Central Plains RecPlex, the Southport Golf Club, and all public-use outdoor amenities; and
• Manage, develop, and maintain relationships with all customers and contractors; and
• Participate and actively pursue the achievement of all performance targets


Responsibilities:

Administration
• Hire, train, supervise, and schedule all recreation employees
• Perform performance reviews for all full-time staff
• Participate in annual Business Planning process
• Prepare cost control and inventory reports
• Prepare, monitor, and report on operating and capital budgets for all facilities
• Review payroll and cash sheets
• Pursue additional funding opportunities
• Book, Coordinate, and execute events within the facilities
• Prepare and Participate in bi-weekly Management meetings
Facility Maintenance
• Ensure the facilities and grounds are maintained
• Develop and administer a preventative maintenance program for facilities and equipment and maintain records
• Ensure appropriate inventory control procedures are in place for equipment and supplies


Marketing and Customer Relations
• Solicit and maintain memberships and facility rentals
• Prepare, negotiate, and manage user agreements
• In collaboration with Marketing, develop marketing plans for each facility
• Coordinate with Marketing in operation of each facility’s digital forum (website, social media, calendar of events, etc.)
• Work with Business Development to develop and foster new business
• Support and coordinate Military-use of recreation facilities

Environment, Health and Safety
• Ensure Workplace Health and Safety programs are maintained and followed
• Ensure facilities meet all safety and applicable codes
• Monitor and uphold the safe conduct of employees and customers
• Maintain and ensure compliance of emergency plans
Job Specifications and Desirable Qualifications:
• 3-5 years’ experience in a Management position or greater
• Experience with budgeting, inventory control, and cost control
• Experience in either the food service or recreation industry is of benefit
• Proficient in MS Office
• Basic First Aid and CPR
• Exceptional customer service proficiency
• Desire for growth and learning
