Knollwood Golf Club is seeking the services of an Assistant Club House Manager to join our team.

About Course
Knollwood Golf Club was founded in 1970 by Jack Harris, one of the most respected golf course superintendents in Canadian history. In 1970, The Old Course at Knollwood opened for play and over the years grew to become an 18-hole experience in a style respecting the heritage of Ontario’s historic courses. In 1997, The New Course opened for play to add another 18 holes to the property.

Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic, service-driven, and passionate person to assist in the Club House Operations The successful candidate will be member-focused and have first-hand experience in delivering exceptional member and guest service.

Responsibilities
DUTIES include but are not limited to:
- the ability to function as the general manager during his/her absence
- supervise Pro Shop attendants, teaching professionals, back shop attendants, marshals, and starters
- providing exemplary customer service which includes but is not limited to greeting members and the public, answering the phone, fielding, and directing inquiries
- ensure that all inquiries and requests are met efficiently, professionally, and in a pleasant manner
- record and document any safety hazards or other important situations and report them to the General Manager daily
- anticipate any problems or situations in the Pro Shop, Club House and act before they become a problem
- follow all the employment policies and procedures in the Knollwood Golf Club employment handbook
- maintain dress code for staff and golfers
- Enforce all club rules and regulations governing the use of the golf course.
- Work several pro shop and restaurant shifts to minimize payroll during the season and when needed.
- notify the General Manager of any concerns or problems

MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
DUTIES include but are not limited to:
- booking tee times
- supervise proper charging of greens fees, shop merchandise etc.
- sales/processing of memberships, green fees, cart rentals, and inventory along with the recording of all such sales as directed
- working with Pro Shop Manager to maintain sufficient inventory and supplies, conduct inventory
- registering golfers for league play and tournaments
- assisting with tournament and event organization
- communicating with grounds staff about any tournament preparation and course closures
- preparing posters advertising tournaments and special events
- assist other team member's duties as deemed necessary (Outside services)
- train Pro Shop staff, F&B staff, players assistants, and back shop attendants
- merchandising and restocking products in the Pro Shop
- delegating and following up on daily cleaning and maintenance of Pro Shop
- assist in building sales in the F&B department
- assist in maintaining F&B inventory and ordering stock as needed
- ensure that all staff is Smart Served and 18 years old in order to serve alcohol or operate beverage carts.

Qualifications
• Has a proven track record with managing people and building relationships.
• Has a passion, intrinsic desire, and willingness to serve. Dedicated to providing exceptional service to our golfers.
• An effective manager for a team of dedicated employees.
• Must be highly organized, efficient, and detail-oriented.
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to work with a variety of individuals.
• Experience in a retail environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional customer service skills with a talent for building customer loyalty.
• Excellent organizational abilities – able to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced sometimes-unpredictable environment.
• Knowledge of Tee-On POS systems is an asset.
• Computer skills (PC Applications; Outlook/E-mail, Excel, Word)
• Must be able to work days, evenings, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays if required.
• Smart Serve, Food Safety and First Aid certification required.

Compensation
Seasonal contract; compensation based on experience
