The Ontario Allied Golf Associations (OAGA) has prepared a short video that all golf courses are strongly urged to use as an introductory feature when starting your public meetings. This is the first year that pesticide usage reports must be presented publicly before December 2012. The video is intended to be used as a common, industry introduction that will have a universal consistent message.

Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
___________________________________________________________
|
The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) is now the law in Ontario. Under the Ministry of Community & Social Services full compliance of Ontario Regulation 429/07 is required NOW (prior to January 1, 2012).
Officially, “Ontario’s new Accessibility Standard for Customer Service is not about physical changes to your premises — it’s simply about providing good customer service to everyone. Chances are you’re already making the effort to ensure your organization is providing accessible customer service to people with disabilities.” Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act 2005 (AODA) is a twenty year effort to make Ontario accessible to people with disabilities by 2025. Although this date seems in the very distant future, this is a multi-faceted piece of legislation that will require organizations and facilities to meet several milestones prior to complete enforcement.

To help businesses create their accessible customer service plan and train their staff without spending a lot of money, Ontario’s Ministry of Community and Social Services offers several free toolkits, including a 78-page employer handbook, template plan and a 51-page training resource.
