OUTGOING EMAIL MESSAGES TO CONSUMER:
Did you know that the new Ontario Harmonized Sales Tax (OHST), effective July 1, 2010 will see the cost of many formerly exempt goods and services rise by 8% including everyday necessities such as gasoline, hydro, telecommunications, newspapers, coffee, theatre, camping as well as green fees and golf memberships.
This new tax will be felt the greatest by the end user … you! The Ontario Liberal Government cannot manage your money and as a result wants more money from you. As a result, the effect on our posted green fee rate of (insert your green fee here - $50.) means that we will send (insert 8% amount - $4) more to the Ontario Government on your behalf – every time you play!
It is estimated that the average Ontario citizen will pay approximately $2500 - $3500 in additional taxes per year beginning next July.
I urge you to voice your opposition to the proposed OHST by contacting your local newspapers, or by using the form letters provided (be sure to link or include the letters we provided) to send a clear and united message to Premier Dalton McGuinty AND / OR by completing the online petitions at either the Ontario NDP’s website http://www.unfairtaxgrab.com or the Ontario Conservative’s website http://www.daltonsalestax.com/.
