In our continuing effort to develop valuable performance tracking systems we have partnered with the PGA of Canada. This is a partnership that will bring together existing partner, Georgian College and the resources of their Golf Management Advanced Diploma program with the leadership from the National Golf Course Owners Association Canada who is guided by the golf industry’s owners and operators from across the country.

The Golf Industry Barometer provides key benchmarking data that will help you make important operational decisions throughout the year. Without national and regional benchmarking rounds played data to compare against your course, how do you know if you’re ahead or behind similar type operations – regionally and nationally? Year-over-year comparisons of your own data do not tell you if other courses in your marketplace are taking in more rounds than you are each month! Isn’t this the type of information you need to remain competitive? The value of rounds played tracking information to facilities should not be minimized. Operators will be able to determine if their marketing plans are truly successful or if their entire market segment is experiencing the same growth in rounds being played.

A new data entry page will make your life even easier. It will take you less than 4 minutes to update your monthly figures.

97% of you said you wanted this!
Perhaps more importantly, all of us, the key stakeholders in the Canadian golf industry, should be in total control of rounds played data being dispersed to the public. If we as operators don’t lead the charge on this, the potential risk of inaccurate information could have devastating implications to our business. What if the reported data is incorrect and is viewed by government officials looking at restructuring valuations for property taxes for golf courses?

As a NGCOA Canada member and by participating in the Golf Industry Barometer performance tracking, you will receive the basic report absolutely free of charge. These reports are only made available to those operators who take part and are designed specifically to compare your facility with other similar sized facilities both in your region and across the country. As a non-NGCOA Canada member you can participate in the Golf Industry Barometer performance tracking and receive the reports for $49.95 per month.
